Resort Fees Add Up

When planning a weekend trip or two-week family vacation, it's helpful to have a good idea of the expenditures you might incur along the way. What is the cost of the airfare? How many nights will you stay? Will you need extra money for various types of transportation? If your trip includes accommodations at a resort property, did you think about considering the resort fees that are mysteriously left off the website or other printed materials?

It boils down to doing your homework. In years past, resort fees could be negotiated with the resort staff. With many of them now making the fees mandatory, you'll want to make plans to include this extra chunk of change into your plans before the trip.
